Following my adventurous trip to Balabac, I spent several nights in El Nido, finding rest at the Mansion Buenavista. My stay was so delightful that I am compelled to share my experience.
The hotel
Mansion Buenavista, although not a five-star resort, provides all the essential comforts of home. The rooms are cozy and all the time clean, ensuring a comfortable stay. What truly sets this hotel apart is its staff.
From a swift check-in process that took less than 5 minutes, to their exceptional service, the team at Mansion Buenavista were always ready to assist. At times, it felt as though they could anticipate my needs before I even voiced them. Having spent over 500 nights in various hotels throughout my travels, I can confidently say that Mansion Buenavista have some of the finest staff I have ever encountered. They are not just friendly, but also incredibly service-oriented.
The team at Mansion Buenavista did ensure my stay was memorable. They organized a day tour for me, arranged for a shuttle to Nacpan, handled my laundry, and coordinated my van pick-up from Puerto Princesa for a very reasonable price.
The location
The guesthouse is located in El Nido, Town Proper. You can walk for around 5-10 minutes down to the main tourist street and the beachfront of El Nido. The boat dock for day trips is also easily accessible from this location. If you’re seeking a comfortable, hospitable and conveniently located accommodation in El Nido, Mansion Buenavista comes highly recommended.

Good to know
The guesthouse is situated near a main road, which has led to some guests on review on Google Maps mentioning noise disturbances in the early morning. While this observation holds true, it’s important to remember that you are staying in Town Proper, in a Philippine town. The pursuit of absolute silence may require opting for accommodations in more remote resort locations. Personally, I did not find the noise to be an issue during my stay.
Mansion Buenavista also offers lunch and dinner services, although these meals must be pre-ordered. If you wish to enjoy a meal from their menu, be sure to send an email to the team or inform them in person during the morning. I ate there once, and I have to say that their kitchen is very good.
Regarding internet connectivity, I experienced occasional periods of slower WiFi speed. This, however, is fairly common throughout the Philippines.
